Yesterday we took our friends from Illinois out to the Oregon Coast for a hike from Heceta Head Lighthouse down to Hobbit Beach. They used to live in Oregon years ago and miss it a lot, so this trip was their chance to reconnect with the forests, cliffs, and ocean they don’t get back home. I reminded them — jokingly — that Illinois mostly offers cornfields, so they’d better soak up every bit of coastline while they could.
The trail wound through dense coastal forest and opened up to wide ocean views, and by the time we reached Hobbit Beach everyone was smiling like they’d stepped back into an old memory. I sent the drone up over the sand and waves, catching the curves of the shoreline from above. It was a simple moment, but it felt like the perfect way to show them the Oregon they’ve been missing.
A good hike, good friends, and a beach that never disappoints — classic Oregon day.

Still need more practice, Antonio! Especially with rotations — rotating too fast can cause dizziness when watching!

Nice shots! Your drone skills are getting real good. Semems like a commercial drone operator might be in your future!
